Post 100 - Spring Wishlist
Firstly, 100th post, wow! Can't believe I've actually done that many!
So anyway, I know I recently did a short wishlist of clothes I want for the summer, but now I'm thinking more about spring. Looking into my wardrobe I realise that I need some new clothes. In about a month, I'm going to France with my school for a week. It's a language trip so it wont just be all sightseeing and shopping so my mum thinks it would be more suitable for me to wear jeans most days. Thing is, I wanna wear skirts too! (with tights of course, I don't think the weather will be very warm).
Here's a trend that's really inspiring me right now.
Androgyny
Also known as 'tomboy', 'unisex' and 'the boyfriend look', Androgyny is a more masculine style with a feminine twist. Examples of the style include braces, brogues, shirts and the 'boyfriend blazer'. The aim of the style is to look like your outfit could have been stolen from your boyfriend's wardrobe! Don't be scared to look in Topman rather than Topshop or the men's section of H&M.

Black brogues - New Look - £25
Navy blazer - New Look - £25
Blue shirt - Topshop - £28
Black blazer - Topshop - £55
White brogues - Dorothy Perkins - £20
I like this style because I think it would be different from my usually quite girly style.
I really want a blazer but I just feel like it will look too formal or dressed up on me because I'm so young. I'm trying to find one that is more casual but not too expensive. I really like the white brogues too as they're slightly more feminine than the black ones and would go with everything. I saw these beautiful light pink brogues from Faith in H&M magazine too:
Sooo pretty, especially with the pink ribbon. Unfortunately, they're £40 which is a bit expensive.
I really want to buy that blue shirt too. Last time I was in Topshop in Oxford Circus, as I was in the queue for the changing rooms, I saw one similar on a seat. It was from Topman but looked very similar to this one so I took it in and tried it on. It was pretty oversized but I still really liked it. Unfortunately, I only had enough money to buy the quilted bag so I left it. Strangely enough, the Topshop version is only just new in today and the same price as the Topman one. I always see bloggers wearing their parents' clothes, so I tried on one of my dad's blue shirts with my long grey cardigan and black leggings and it actually looked really nice! (a bit like this picture of Sophie from LookBook)
I think a skinny belt would make it look even better, too. So I'm hoping that my local Topshop have this shirt next time I go in there.
Randomness that is inspiring me right now
This is one of my favourite looks from LookBook. It's simple, chic and Givenchy inspired.
I actually have a black dress in a similar shape to this. I bought it to wear with a long-sleeved purple top underneath, purple tights and a black belt. I couldn't find a black dress anywhere until I came across one in the H&M sale. Thing is, it's a size 12 and only looks right with a belt, as I can't actually take it in to fit me. So anyway, I want to get a coloured skinny belt to wear with it and also a similar dress in white. I'm thinking that I could buy a pretty shapeless t-shirt dress but then add the skinny belt. More of a summer look but never mind. Also, I love all the layered necklaces. I wanted to do something similar to this recently but in silver, to go with my grey zip skirt. Thing is, all I could find was loads of long gold necklaces rather than silver. I might actually get them now because I've realised that gold would actually be better than silver. I saw this really great necklace on Topshop:
But annoyingly, it's sold out. Hopefully it wont be sold out in the shop too!
Another on my never-ending wishlist is acid-wash or light denim jeans.
Like I said before, my mum thinks I should wear jeans most days. I have 3 pairs but only one I actually like - a normal denim pair but they're straight leg and not skinny, a black pair which really don't fit well and then a dark denim skinny pair which I like. The only type I don't have is pale denim, so I'm thinking about getting some as they would be great for spring. I think this top from ASOS would look nice with them too:
It's inspired by Luella:
I prefer the colours on the Luella one but £21.75 is way more in my price range. Would look really great with high-waisted denim shorts too (which I am badly craving for summer). I also want a cool t-shirt to wear with it too.
To sum up, these are the main things I want to buy next time I go shopping:
1. A casual jacket
2. Light denim skinny jeans
3. A blue shirt (the one in Topshop)
And then the things I want but don't need:
1. A long necklace with some kind of charm on the end
2. Loads of gold necklaces
3. A skinny coloured belt
4. A skinny brown plaited belt
5. White t-shirt dress
6. T-shirt
7. High-waisted shorts (will definately buy some nearer to summer)
8. White/navy striped top
9. White brogues
Wow that's a long list : better start saving!
What a long post! I think I've been building all of this up during the two weeks I haven't posted for one big post!

Award and Tag

Also, Demi tagged everybody, and I haven't done one in a while (because I'm pretty rubbish at them) so I thought I might do it.
Four places I go over and over:
1) havering gymnastics centre, it's like my second home! if you didn't know, i coach as well as train there and i'm there for at least 3 days a week.
2) school. 5 days a week. not fun :/
3) my room - i love spending time in room, reading magazines or books (twilight books are amazing!), trying on new outfits, sleeping!
4) robert clack leisure centre - it's where i do my dancing. i've been going since i was 3 and i do ballet, tap, jazz and pointe.
Four people who email me reguarly:
1) blogger - i get an email every time i get a lovely comment!
2) stefan, the editor or s.k.i.r (stylish kids in riot, the other site i write for)
3) facebook telling me everything i found out when i log on anyway! really annoying, wish i could disable it
4) my inbox has a lot of work experience rejection emails that i haven't yet deleted, i'm giving up on that now, i don't think fashion journalism is for me anymore
Four favourite smells:
1) daisy by marc jacobs perfume - had a sample in my magazine and it smells gorgeous! i want to buy it but its also very expensive
2) chanel chance perfume, my sister has it and it smells lovely too.
3) freshly washed clothes/duvet
4) freshly baked cakes/biscuits
Four places i'd rather be:
1) back in sicily - i'm half italian and a lot of my family live there, buts it's also a really beautiful island and i went on holiday there 2 years ago
2) on holiday
3) in bed
4) out with friends
Four tv shows I watch:
1) gossip girl
2) skins
3) friends
4) the janice dickinson modelling agency
And just for fun I'm going to add two of my own.
Four things I've done this week:
1) set up a bank account - i get wages from coaching gymnastics so instead of asking my mum to get money out of my savings account, i can get cash out myself or pay for things with a visa card :)
2) been to an under 18s night at a night club
3) shopping in lakeside and oxford street
4) ice-skating
Four things I've bought this week:
1) lily allen's album, it's not me it's you - ok so i actually pre-ordered this ages ago and it came last week but it's such a good album, i really recommend it
2) a marc b black quilted bag from topshop
3) black jersey mini skirt from new look
4) anchor necklace and bag from beyond retro
Like Demi, I tag everybody :) Have a good weekend!

Half Term Shopping

1. New Moon book (I read the first Twilight book in 3 days, it was so good! So i've started the second one and I took it with me to read on the train)
2. Purse
3. Phone - Samsung G600
4. iPod - silver 2nd gen nano
5. Oyster card
6. Brush/mirror compact
7. Glasses case (I wore my contact lenses today and I always take my glasses with me just in case)
8. Umbrella (typical British weather. Luckily I didn't have to use it today)
9. Bag
Straight after lunch, we went to Beyond Retro. It's a vintage shop just off of Oxford Street and I've been twice before but never bought anything. This time, I bought one of their tote bags...:

...and an anchor necklace:

As anybody who has been following my blog would know, I have been looking for a quilted Chanel-style bag for so long. I've several in different shops but something always stops me buying it, whether it be the price (I mean you, Urban Outfitters, £52 for a bag!) or size. Today when I was in Topshop, I picked up a gorgeous Marc B one. I've seen it before but it was a bigger version, a bit too big for my liking but this one was really nice. And only £35, so not so bad. The strap can be worn two ways and the leopard print inside is really cool too.

I love it and I'm so happy that I have finally found a quilted bag I like! Unfortunately, although today is only Thursday, it's pretty much the end of half term because tomorrow I've got an extra dancing practise as well as gymnastics so I wont have time to go out and use my new bag! Never mind, I'm sure I'll get loads of use out of it in the future.
Hows everybody's week been?
P.S. London Fashion Week starts tomorrow :)

Half Term Day 1

...or down:

I love the second outfit and am hoping to wear it to London on Wednesday. Oh and I bought that red cardigan recently too, and the top is my sister's. Also bought the first two books in the Twilight series. Everybody has been telling me how good they are so I want to read them. I haven't seen the film yet either so please don't tell me what happens!
Tonight I'm going to an under 18 night at Liquid. Did anybody watch Miss Naked Beauty with Gok Wan and Myleene Klass on Channel 4 a few months ago? Remember the episode where they went to a Romford night club and asked the girls to take their make-up off? That's the Liquid I go to! And Gok Wan was there! Pretty cool methinks :) haha anyway I'll try and take an outfit picture tonight. Nothing that new though, wearing my grey zip skirt.

My 1st Blog Birthday!
Thing is, I'm starting to change my mind about being a fashion journalist. So many things about it put me off! Long hours, no social life, bad pay, bitchy colleagues, I won't be able to afford designer clothes and loads of other things. I started thinking about this a while ago but then I always change my mind. This time it was because I watched The Devil Wears Prada on TV last night and it just made me realise all the bad things about the job. I still love fashion though and I'm going to continue this blog, but I just don't know what other job I would want to do.
Anyway sorry for that. Hope you all had a good weekend :) I went shopping yesterday, didn't buy anything but tried on a size 4 (American size 0) dress on in Topshop and it fitted! It was really tight though and I could barely breathe haha!

High-Street Love
Dorothy Perkins

Dorothy Perkins clothes are more aimed at women rather than girls, but I still like some of their clothes. Dress - £40, skirt - £28.
Miss Selfridge

They used to sell this bag in black and turquoise but the white is definately my favourite. It's a really great spring bag and this is possibly one to add to my wish list. The dress also comes in grey, both are gorgeous. Bag - £18, dress - £30.
Topshop

The dress is from Topshop's Unique collection, and says 'Kiss-O-Meter'. I absolutely love the skirt and am really thinking about buying it. It's a full cotton mini skirt and a great colour. Although it's pretty simple, it could be styled in so many ways and is a great investment for spring/summer, but until then I can wear it with tights! Another reason to buy it, I found a £10 Topshop gift card in my purse, I forgot I hadn't spent it! Dress - £40, skirt - £28.
Reiss

I've never shopped in Reiss because there are no stores near me, the clothes aren't aimed at me and it's really expensive but it's classed as high street and I really wanted to show you this gorgeous dress. The colour is gorgeous, I love coral pink. I wish I could go to the sort of event where I could wear this dress, it's so pretty! Dress - £179.
